This training is leading-edge, it equips employers and employees to provide a rapid, effective and respectful responses to colleagues who encounter domestic and family violence (DFV) in any of its forms. This can include: people directly experiencing violence, people using violence, others affected by the violence and the person responding to the violence. This is an easy-to-follow self-paced course which helps to untangle the stigma and complexity associated with DFV. This training is suitable for staff of all levels and is relevant to all workplaces.
It educates course participants to Recognise when domestic violence is occurring, how to Respond to colleagues affected and Refer them on for further support if required.
What the course covers
- Increase understanding of DFV issues in our society
- Explains why DFV is a workplace issue
- Presents factual information and statistics on the prevalence of DFV in Australia
- Assists staff to RECOGNISE the signs and symptoms of when DFV may be occurring
- How to respectfully RESPOND to a colleague in the workplace who may be experiencing DFV or a colleague using violence
- How to REFER colleagues onto services in a supportive manner that is suitable to their needs
This online course takes up to 30 minutes to complete. It uses engaging content and interactive scenarios to equip you with the skills you need to Recognise, Respond and Refer to DFV in the workplace.
